It's my site and I'll brag if I want to!
My voice does not lie in words but in visuals so I will not bore you with a long autobiography. My formal training is as a visual artist, but my life long love for technology has made my transformation from designer to developer rather seamless.
I have found that being both a geek and an artist is a brilliant combination. Commercial artists are always frustrated by geeks who don't understand or respect their vision and geeks are equally frustrated by designers who lack the foresight to design around the electronic medium. So being both... I am in a constant state of self sustaining frustration.
Despite the bad joke (I blame the geek in me) I've found that fully understanding the web development process from concept to completion is invaluable.

Skills & Training
Programming
People seeking to become avid web developers often come to me asking which programming languages they need to learn. I always tell them that eventually they'll have to know them all. After I've enjoyed basking in their distress, I'll usually follow up by explaining that learning to program is the skill (not the arsenal of languages). Once you understand how to program learning a coding language is child's play.
This is not a comprehensive list but rather an overview of the skills I've had recent enough dealings with to claim as familiar.

Graphic Design
Adobe's Creative Suite dominates the market and seems to be the only creative toolset worth mentioning. That being said, I do remember using Corel Draw for birthday cards in middle school, then there was Aldus Page Maker for my high school yearbook, and just when you think Quark is gone for good someone sends you a .qxd file.
